Religious Education / RCIA & RCIC

2020-21 Religious Education starts Oct. 11th

w/ New Delivery Methods due to COVID-19:

Sacramental Classes (1st Communion I & II - 1st and 2nd Grades; Confirmation I & II - 9th and 10th Grades) will meet IN PERSON in the parish hall on a rotating schedule with social distancing, masks, and other safety requirements set by the Diocese in place for all students/teachers and volunteers. Please see the calendar for dates that your child's class will meet in person. On the week that students do not meet in person, family catechesis / lessons will need to be completed at home as assigned by the teacher for credit. There are other requirements for these classes that will be communicated during the first few weeks, related to preparing for receiving the Sacrament(s). Mass attendance is required.

RCIC and RCIA classes will meet IN PERSON each week, with RCIC on Wednesdays and RCIA on Thursdays. Times are listed below and on the calendar. Social distancing, masks, and other safety protocols must be followed for all involved including students. (RCIC - Please complete the registration form via the link below. For RCIA, please plan to join us for the first class on October 15th and complete registration in class!)

ALL OTHER, NON-SACRAMENTAL CLASSES (Kinder, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 11th, and 12th grades) will engage in learning via Family Catechesis from home with Teacher support, guidance, and direction. Teachers will assign weekly lessons using the curriculum for the grade level (textbooks that will be provided to students to take home), via media content through FORMED.org or other resources, and activities they may assign as part of the class. Weekly participation and completion of assignments (submitted electronically as a photo/text or email) will determine "attendance" for that week and completion of the class/course. While we wish we could all meet in person, that is not possible with the facilities we currently have and the number of students enrolled. Thank you for your support!

Two-Year Commitment

for Sacramental Prep

Sacramental preparation is a two-year commitment for each student under the age of 18 (meaning a minimum of two consecutive years of Catechism required, in addition to other basic requirements, to receive a Sacrament). There will be scheduled parent meeting(s) during the year for students who are preparing to receive Sacraments.

These meetings are necessary so that you can help your child prepare, and know what to expect as a family. Please see this year's Religious Education Calendar on this web page for important parent meeting dates.

Thank you & God bless you!
